Potassium hydroxide is an inorganic, strong base consisting of potassium hydroxide (KOH) dissolved in water. In solid form, potassium hydroxide is commonly referred to as caustic potash.
In industry, it is used in the production of detergents, as an electrolyte in alkaline batteries, as a catalyst in chemical processes, and in the manufacturing of potassium salts.
Potassium hydroxide is available in cans, drums, and IBCs, in concentrations up to 50%.
